The Record

Postby FazerPhil » Tue Jul 10, 2012 7:05 pm

Lets all bring a friend in 2013 and grab the record from the USA for the most Saddlesore 1000 rides riden the same day.

If you have riden before make 2013 the year when you decide to go again.

And in the process raise a lot of money for the Poppy appeal.

I think it was 390 riders, but I can't be certain. Looking at recent years' completions of the RBLR1000 I think it will be a hard nut to crack. :|

not if we could attract all those that have riden in the past as every year there are a fair few new riders ;)

WoW! What an excellent idea

I could start badgering those who said they'd do it this year (2012) and play the guilt trip so they do it for 2013

If they all sign up and actually turn up that'll bring another 5.

I have spoken to loads before doing this years RBLR 1000 and since completing it. the common theme is no-one knew about it :?: So how do we raise the profile? Loads of leaflets left in Bike shops and popular bike meets? Active promotion at Bike meets? Adverts in MCN, Ride or Bike etc

I'll be banging on about to every biker I know from now till next June

Anyone else thoughts on how to raise the profile?

I have (and will send more) leaflets to the RBLR. You can download the leaflet here: http://rblr1000.co.uk/uploads/2013-docs ... eaflet.pdf

I did it in 2011 but had to miss 2012 due to work commitments. Just booked my holidays for 2013 - see you there - probably on one of the most unsuitable bikes possible !

Only just learnt about the RBLR1000. Sounds like an excellent challenge combined with a great ride and chance to raise some money for a really worthwhile cause. I'm up for it in 2013. Can't wait. Any advice out there for a first timer? I'll be on my GSXR1000 and this will be about twice the distance i've ever ridden in one day before.

Have a hunt around on the forum as there's loads of information and advice. The main one for riding a Gixxer is to bring plenty of pain killers! ;) You'll need them for your neck/backside/wrists/knees.
